What about you?

We charge our phones, floss our teeth, wake up early to exercise, make time for connection <with others>, learn new things, learn new things, take the trash out, pay for house cleaners, prescribe to medicines, seek time in nature, book the perfect trip.
Yet we continue to feel unwell, unfulfilled, not content, isolated, searching, "off", diseased, lost, and insufficient.
Why is this?
When the majority of our survival behavior - including what is dubbed as 'self-care' with good intentions for our minds and bodies, is based in external validation and satisfaction of our senses.
Undoubtedly to most efficient way to take care of our internal selves is by taking the time to listen to ourselves - and the most efficient way to do that is to get quiet. Repeated periods of stillness, as short as they may be, are one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself on the quest to ultimate freedom. Tapping in to this reservoir full of an endless source of innate wisdom will often result in so much else seemingly falling into place. This is because the act of getting out of the way is also reflective of the acknowledgement and realization that we are not in control. Think of all the times in your life when a seemingly mysterious force led to the creation, destruction, or evolution of an event, and not in the way you expected. This mysterious force is present always, all around us, and is reflected as an all-knowing higher power at the heart of creation. Liberating ourselves from fearing the unknown, and finding comfort in embracing what will come, is the ultimate exercise in trust.
